Bear North Design Keeps It #SkagitStrong

Posted on January 20th, 2021

If you know anything about us at Bear North Design, you know we’re all about supporting our local community. When the pandemic was only settling in last April, one local business owner decided to use what resources he had to help. Eric Peterson, owner of screen-printing shop, Ashley’s Design & Letterman Jackets in Oak Harbor, used the #skagitstrong t-shirt promotion to support other local businesses and keep their own doors open during these challenging times. Of course, we jumped on the opportunity to participate, promoting our fresh BND shirts.

While one could say this act of community started with the onset of the pandemic, in reality it started over 15 years ago when Bear North Designer, Robyn, was in high school. Cut to circa 2004, Mr. Eric Peterson was Robyn’s high school marketing teacher—you know, the one who inspired her interest in marketing and gave her a book that ultimately changed her life.

Simply selling t-shirts wasn’t enough for Bear North Design though! Reflecting on why we do what we do and what a hard year it’s been for so many families, we decided to donate our half of the proceeds to the Anacortes 100 Food Bank. Together we remain #skagitstrong.
